Agrivoltaics is an emerging technology that combines solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with agricultural production on the same land area. It has the potential to provide renewable energy while maintaining agricultural yields, optimizing land use, and offering additional revenue streams for farmers. However, the techno-economic feasibility of Agrivoltaics needs to be carefully evaluated in the specific context of the selected member countries.
The primary objectives of this study are:
- Conduct a detailed technical feasibility assessment of Agrivoltaic systems in the context of Bhutan
- Study the economic feasibility of agrivoltaics on crop productions
- Perform a comprehensive economic feasibility analysis, including cost-benefit assessments and financial modeling
- Identify potential barriers, challenges, and enabling factors for Agrivoltaics implementation
- Provide recommendations and strategies for successful adoption of Agrivoltaics including enhancing crop production.
